DC SCORES is a longterm partner of Artemis Ward, and we’ve been proud to support their efforts in creating a program that helps DC’s youths learn about themselves and their community through combining soccer, service learning, and spoken word poetry.
The challenge was that despite the quality of their work, many outside the DC SCORES community didn’t understand the full breadth of their service and offerings. I led our design efforts, sourced and collaborated directly with our dev team, and created a product that’s not only a vast improvement for the DC SCORES team but genuinely reflects the spirit and joy of their work. The existing DC SCORES brand wasn’t bringing the joy their students felt in participating, so we evolved their existing brand system to incorporate new elements, like collage and refined accent colors, while staying true to the established tenets of their current brand.
